    • Yeah, I hate her! Rather, I ate her. I use butternut squash in place of pumpkin in pies. Nummy.

      • lol : ) What a good idea! I love butternut squash and never thought to make it into a pie. Am not overfond of pumpkin pie, and this would be a great substitute at Thanksgiving. Thanks!

(Well, I’ll do open tarts–that’s gonna be my new thing, since the lupus–or the Behcet’s–or all the antibiotics I had to take because of the major kidney infections I got because of the Behcet’s–or the lupus–flipped me into being a celiac : ( and I’m corn-allergic (no cornstarch) so realistic-y piecrusts that hold together are a pain in the patoot AND expensive. But I LOVE little tarts! They’re so cute, and you can fill them with ANYTHING and decorate the tops, and eat a whole bunch, and trick yourself into thinking you’re not pigging out. Yum! : )

  9. I’m going to have to make some time to read your blog from back to front to get caught up on your story. In the meantime, I really enjoy exchanging comments with you. You make me smile. As does the little trick you do with tarts. The “eat a whole bunch” trick. My kinda gal. 🙂
